The University of Chester HESTEM project 'Employer Networks' is nearing the end of the first phase. The video recordings highlighting careers in our Science industries and the skills and qualifications preferred by employers are in the process of being edited ready to be placed on the U-Explore careers website and the University of Chester websites. Included will also be an interactive display of a technical laboratory showing equipment and testing procedures as part of daily working activity.

The final stage of the project will include three workshops during the summer term, to provide opportunity for science teachers in local schools and colleges to meet the people working in our science industries and make links with local employers to encourage more young people to consider a career in science. I will be sending out the dates for these during April and would like to ask employers for their help with these workshops.

I would like to say thank you to all those who have taken time out of their busy schedule to record the information for the young people in schools and colleges. Individual recordings will be sent to each person who has taken part and the completed careers information will also be available to anyone who would like it.
