Mechanical integrity of process plant: New guidance on inspection and testing

20 June 2013, Institution of Mechanical Engineers,London

Book now or for more details: www.imeche.org/events/S1737

Introducing and explaining new guidance recently published by EEMUA and SAFed concerned with the inspection of process plant containing hazardous materials.

The guidance is endorsed by HSE, who were actively involved in its production, and see it as a key part of integrity management for process plant operators and managers.

Featuring a keynote presentation by Stuart Pointer of the Hazardous Installations Directorate at the Health and Safety Executive, ensure that your maintenance and inspection regimes meet industry good practice, as endorsed by HSE.

Additionally, we consider recent developments in inspection methods as applied in facilities operating under PSSR and COMAH and how these should be extended to other plants handling hazardous materials. Join us to examine developments in inspection technology
and, through case studies, build on the practical experiences of other plants.

This seminar is particularly relevant to personnel associated with plant handling hazardous materials.

Attending this event will help you:

  • Understand how well known principles from PSSR can be applied to all plant containing hazardous materials
  • Ensure that the latest techniques and methods are used to
complement inspection of equipment containing hazardous materials
  • Benefit from the experiences on other plants to be able to apply their learning to your own circumstances
  • Hear about recent developments in inspection techniques including NDT
  • Meet with other people working in the inspection field

Human Factors In Practice

What do you understand by the term 'Human factors'?

Do you know what your company's organisational and safety culture is?

Human factors is recognised to widely embrace the environmental, organisational and job factors as well as the human characteristics which influence behaviour at work affecting health and safety.

Building on last year's successful Human Factors seminar programme, ABB Consulting is presenting a series of seminars addressing current 'hot topics' in this fast moving field.

This year we will be addressing three key areas:

-    human factors in high performing teams
-    human factors in maintenance
-    linking behavioural safety to human factors

The three topic areas of teams, maintenance and behaviour overlap with each other.  Each individually and together impact on safety and commercial performance in a wide variety of industries and sectors. The seminar and workshop draws on examples and learning from a wide variety of sectors, including aviation and health care.

The seminar will consist of a number of presentations from ABB Consulting subject matter experts, plus a number of case studies and a two part participative workshop session.
