c. £40,000 plus benefits package

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded marketing manager to support the strategic development and marketing of a range of industry-focused training, standards and qualifications to ensure that skills and competence are effective, up-to-date and relevant for the process manufacturing industries.  Cogent, the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for science-based industries is a national organisation working at the interface of Employers, Government & Training Providers.  Assisted by major UK employers, the organisation builds partnerships, services and connections within the public and private sector to support and maximise skills development for the UK's process industries.

Working as part of the Marketing Team, you will be based at Cogent's Warrington Headquarters, with weekly visits to the North East office of their delivery arm; the National Skills Academy for Process Industries (NSAPI). You will ensure the effective marketing of a suite of Process Manufacturing targeted education and skills related products and services so that the business targets and the objectives of the Cogent Process Manufacturing Business Unit are achieved.  Working with a wide variety of internal and external partners, employers and key stakeholders, you will develop a clear "value proposition" and ensure that marketing communications are timely, consistent and support market positioning.  Leading on website functionality, the incumbent will be responsible for the full marketing mix including the development of appropriate social media channels.

Candidates, qualified to degree level in a marketing or related discipline, or with appropriate supplementary qualifications, will have evidence of developing, maintaining and delivering effective marketing strategies.  You will offer strong analytical, administrative and organisation skills and possess a great attention to detail, ideally gained within a commercial, customer-focused training and skills environment.  With proven experience of content management systems, design software and digital technologies along with exemplary interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; you will have a genuine enthusiasm for teamwork and partnership working.  The role will appeal to a 'self-starter', seeking to make a real difference, who has the passion to succeed and will offer an increasingly higher profile as success is delivered.
